Remnant

I sit alone in this empty room,
Where memories linger and shadows loom,
The clock ticks on but time stands still,
As I wait here, right where you left me, still.  

The walls are silent, the air so still,  
Echoes of your voice, I can't help but feel,
The pain is real, but so was the love, 
For that reason, I cannot relinquish the memories. 

I see your face in every corner of this place,
The warmth of your embrace, I can't erase,
But I know I must move on, I must let go,
For life goes on, and I must grow.  

But for now, I'll sit here, right where you left me, 
And cherish the love, and the memories, 
For time may pass, but my heart will stay, 
Right where you left me, till the end of days.
